Abstract: North Shewa is one of the arenas of Ethiopian history and cultures. Nevertheless, its heritages are not only unknown to the large public but they benefit little to the local development and to the nation. This paper intends to identify the cultural and natural heritages for tourism development in Basso-Warana districts. The data are collected through reviewing written sources, interviewing the local people and personal observations of the researchers. The research has identified major sites namely the historical and cultural heritages of king Shale Selassie (1813-40) palace, the birth place of king Menilek II (1889-1913), and the Gobena cave and his residence at Alam Katama in Aman-Gult kabala (small administrative unit) Besides, there are traditional games that can be re-enacted for tourism development. The research reveals the main prospects and challenges of the sites for their development to tourist destinations. It recommends the short and long term tourist development plan particularly for the Angollala royal seat, Gobena cave and Alam Katama.

Abstract: The government of Ethiopia gives special emphasis for small and micro enterprises in recent periods for the development of the country and faces various challenges. One of the most critical problems is related to proper recording of accounts and preparation of financial reports. The main objective of this study therefore to examine the accounting practices of Small and Micro enterprises in north shewa zone of Amhara regional state of Ethiopia. 305 Small and micro enterprises were selected as samples from five town administrations of north shewa zone. The researcher used purposive non probability sampling techniques to select towns and disproportionate stratified random sampling techniques which involve dividing the population into homogeneous subgroups in to sector wise (construction, urban agriculture, manufacturing and trade). The study was revealed that more than 50% of the respondents do not keep the accounting records totally due to the reason that lack of accounting knowledge, required more cost, waste of time, more labor intensive. Even for those respondents who prepare accounting records the main constraint faced with them for proper accounting record is lack of accounting knowledge. Therefore, the researcher recommended that the concerned governmental institutions Debre Berhan University, North Shewa zone small and micro enterprises office and north shewa zone TVET colleges arrange training `sessions for those enterprises.

Abstract: The interaction between growth and inflation is one of the macroeconomic problems. Determining the effect of inflation on the economic growth of one country must be considered as a prior issue to build up a healthy economy. The main objective of this paper is to test that, whether inflation is an indicator or obstacle for economic growth of Ethiopia. Pair wise Granger causality test has been made to verify the objective of the paper and the pairwise Granger causality test result suggesting the existence of strong and significant correlation between variables pairwise. The test reveals a uni- directional causation between, real GDP and export (EX) and between real GDP and inflation and real GDP and investment. The causation runs from real GDP to inflation, real GDP to export and real GDP and investment respectively. In addition, taking the main objective which hypothesizes to proof whether inflation cause economic growth or the reverse holds true, the granger causality test pertains a uni- directional causation which runs from economic growth to inflation. Accordingly one can conclude that economic growth can cause for inflation but inflation doesn’t cause economic growth during the study period in Ethiopia (1975-2016). Based up on the finding it is evident that balancing economic growth target in line with a monetary policy target may have a vital role to boost economic growth and control the level of inflation.
